Arlan Leroy Dunkelberger

Arlan LeRoy Dunkelberger, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in his Wernersville residence.

He was the beloved husband of the late Colleen Dorothy Dunkelberger.

Born in Shoemakersville, PA, he was the son of the late LeRoy A. and Margaret (Zimmerman) Dunkelberger.

Arlan was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was employed as a machine builder at Textile and Rockwell International for 42 years.

Arlan was a loving father and grandfather. He had a witty personality with an infectious laugh. Arlan enjoyed lifting weights, going to the casino, and hanging out with his friends at the mall. He loved to travel, taking his family to the beach and on many cruises over the years. Although he loved a good bargain, Arlan was a very generous and caring person and enjoyed taking care of other people. He was also a very organized person, meticulous about every detail in his life.

He is survived by two children: Michael Dunkelberger fiance' of Patricia Shipe, Ephrata; and Patricia Fisher, companion of Paul Rolland, Reading. His loving companion, Mary Raifsnyder; two grandchildren: Heather, wife of Scott Wagner, and Sandy Fisher; five great grandchildren; and one sister Ruth also survive him.

In addition to his wife, Arlan was predeceased by his daughter; Eileen Dunkelberger; and six siblings.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
