Ardelle A. Schaffer Templin

Ardelle A. (Rigg) Schaffer Templin, 85, of Muhlenberg Township, died February 5, 2014 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

She was the wife of Richard A. Templin, who died April 24, 1996.

Born January 17, 1929 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Councel O. and Catharine I. (Strock) Rigg.

Ardelle was a 1946 graduate of Reading High School.

She was employed with WRFY as an office secretary for over 15 years and was employed as the Tax Collector for the City of Reading for 2 years, retiring in 1990.

After retirement, Ardelle enjoyed traveling with her husband across the country in their motor home.

She loved to crochet, do cross stitch and ceramics.

Surviving are her two sons: Stephen L., husband of Debra A. Schaffer and Scott M., husband of Darlene M. Schaffer, all of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

Ardelle was predeceased by her grandson, Steven P. Schaffer who died August 17, 1985 and her brother, William O. Rigg.

Services will be Tuesday at 12 noon in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
