Ardell W. Antolini, age 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 11, 2024. She was born in West Reading, PA, on November 22, 1941. She was the loving wife of Lawrence N. Antolini.
Ardell was born and raised in West Reading where she attended West Reading High School. In her teenage years she became a competitive pairs roller skater. She left high school to work in the Reading Hospital Maternity Ward. She married Bernard J. Elzer, Jr., in 1963 and became a stay-at-home mom following the birth of her children, Bernard J. Elzer III and Robert H. Elzer. Ardell was known as "THE MOM" and cared deeply for her family: giving them support when they were sick, strength when they were down, and encouragement when needed.
Ardell supported her first husband, Bernard J Elzer, Jr. in the establishment of Grafika Printing, Inc. in Sinking Spring and worked in quality control. Later in life Ardell's interest in the medical field led her to become a certified phlebotomist. She worked for AccuTec, later OmniTec and Quest Diagnostics.
Ardell enjoyed attending Drum and Bugle Corp competitions where she met her second husband, Lawrence Antolini. Larry and Ardell married in 1984 and her family expanded with the addition of Jason, Justine, and Justin. Their shared interest in Drum and Bugle Corp led her to become a member, along with Larry, of the Reading Buccaneer Alumni Drum and Bugle Corp. Ardell proudly marched as a saber carrier in the color guard.
The family will remember their bus trips to New York City at Christmastime to see the Rockettes, Ardell's passion for collecting figurines, her love of all animals and her meticulous attention to detail.
Her memory will live on in her children: Bernard J. Elzer III (Athena), Robert H. Elzer (Allison), Jason Antolini (Myrian), Justine Zeiner (Daryl), and Justin Antolini (Nancy); her grandchildren: Nathan Elzer, Jocelyn Elzer (Geoff), Nick Elzer, Ethan Muñoz, Abigail Muñoz, Zoey Antolini, Sergio Antolini, Taylor Cirulli (Dillon), and Antonia Antolini; her great-grandchild Capri Cirulli; her brother, Robert Weidner (Dawn); her niece, Michele Coller (Robert); and her great-nieces, Allyson Morgan, Lauryn Morgan, and Emily Morgan.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Berks Heim who provided Ardell with
