Ardele E. Smith

Ardele E. Smith, 79, of West Wyomissing, died June 9, 2016, in her son's Spring Twp. residence.

Her husband, Harold P. Smith, died February 20, 1994.

Born in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late John F. Kish and Steffie (Sadonis) Kish.

She was employed in housekeeping for the Reading Hospital for 30 years until her retirement.

Ardele was an avid reader; enjoyed puzzles, crossword card games, bingo and socializing with her Penn Crossing friends.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ardele is survived by her son, Harold D. "Harry", husband of Nancy A. (Kaessinger) Smith, Spring Twp.; grandson, Shawn D., husband of Jennifer (Stoltzfus) Smith, Shillington and great grandchildren, Connor and Brayden Smith. One sister, Lillian Rayder also survives her.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew R. Smith, on June 21, 2006.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Services will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at 10 a.m. also in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
