Arbutus V. Eckert

Arbutus V. "Booty" Eckert, 74, formerly of 101 Allison Place, Blandon, died July 16, 2010 in Hearthstone of Maidencreek.

She was the widow of Lynn G. Eckert.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Floyd A. and Ruth R. (Slusser) Filbert.

Booty was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School.

She was the owner of A & L Snack Bar for many years and later worked for Schell's Drive In for 18 years, last working October 2009.

She was a member of Epler's United Church of Christ, Leesport.

Booty is survived by her daughter, Melissa A. Schartel, wife of Paul F. Foreman, Fleetwood. Also surviving is her brother, Douglas D. Filbert, Denver and three grandchildren: Brent A. Beckner, Kory B. Beckner and Tyler E. Schartel.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Lynnee M. Beckner.

Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A viewing will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Epler's Cemetery, Bern Township.
