Aphrodite L. Komninos

Aphrodite L. Komninos, 82, of Reading, died December 18, 2006 in Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been for 3 weeks.

Her husband Lykourgos Komninos, died May 25, 1976.

Born in Skalohori, Mytilene, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Demosthenis and Maria Karapanagiotis.

She was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading.

Mrs. Komninos was a dress shop owner for 25 years while living in Greece. Later, she was employed as a seamstress, first by Bellan Company and later for Astor Knitting Mills, both of Reading retiring in 1995.

Survivors include three daughters, Maria wife of Michael Daniels, with whom she resided, Menie wife of Demetrius Vatis, Molyvos, Greece and Athena wife of Lawrence Howard, Los Angeles, CA. There are also three brothers, Stavros Karapanagiotis, Haverhill, MA, Anastasios Karapanagiotis and Miltiadis Karapanagiotis both of Athens, Greece. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren, Catherine, Lee, Tina, Aphrodite, Demetria and George and 5 great grandchildren, Alec, Stephen, Derek, Cecily and Pavlos.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd. Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Edward J.
