Antonina M. Mollica

Nina Mollica, 71, went to be with her heavenly family, Joseph and Josephine Mollica, on October 28, 2023. She passed in the comfort of her home supported by her dedicated community of friends and caregivers. A devoted daughter, Nina is known to all for the loving care she gave to her mother. She is survived by several cousins and was a member of Holy Rosary Parish. Nina was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. After earning her Bachelor's degree from Alvernia University, she worked for the US Postal Service for ten years before continuing her academic pursuits at Kutztown University, achieving two Master's degrees. Her career path led her to Reading Area Community College, most recently as an adjunct professor teaching writing and film studies courses.

A lifelong resident of Reading, Nina was an enthusiastic supporter of the performing arts in the city. In association with arts organizations, she brought in many prominent performers, including her friend, Johnny Cunningham. She was well-known for her production of concerts in support of the Civic Center, now the Santander Performing Arts Center. As the secretary of the Notre Dame Club of Reading for ten years, Nina produced and pursued creative communications and activities for the advancement of the Club. Members said that although she wasn't a grad of Our Lady's University, she loved the blue and gold and represented it with class and distinction. Nina's happy place was teaching, in the classroom and on-line. As a student-centered, compassionate adjunct faculty member, she fostered the growth and development of many students with a genuine interest in their futures. Funeral services for our friend Nina will be held at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading, on Saturday, November 11; viewing at 10 a.m. followed by a loving tribute at 11 a.m. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery next to her beloved parents will immediately follow.
