Anton Donald Fernsler, 60, of Spring Township sadly passed away on June 6th, 2024 at Wilson West Middle School.
Born in Lebanon, PA, Anton was the son of the late Donald Harvey Fernsler and Linda (Boyer) Fernsler. He grew up alongside his sister, Ann Hartman (wife of Brian Hartman), and his brother Matthew Fernsler (husband of Kim Fernsler). He went on to graduate from Cedar Crest High School and later with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education from West Chester University. He completed his schooling by earning a Master's Degree in Education at Wilkes University.
On June 26, 1993, Anton married the late Deborah Brader Fernsler. Deborah tragically passed away on August 12, 2013 and Anton was later remarried to Megan H. (Haas) Fernsler on October 6, 2019. He was the proud father of Austin Van Curtis Fernsler (husband of Cassie Fernsler), Azure Skye Lokos (wife of Joseph Lokos), Monty Greer, and Damian Greer.
Anton spent his professional career teaching health and physical education at Wilson Central and completed his career at Wilson West Middle School. Throughout those years, he coached football, track and field, wrestling, and strength and conditioning at Wilson, as well as football at Cedar Crest and swimming and diving at Muhlenberg. On top of this, in Anton's younger years, he worked as an EMT and a firefighter, a testament to just how much he cared about his community. Anton loved what he did and took great pride in it.
When Anton was not working or coaching, he loved watching his kids play and coach sports, watching sprint car races and spending time with his family. His family meant more than anything to him, and he cherished all of the moments that he was able to spend with them. He will be greatly missed by all those in his family, as well as everyone who had the pleasure of getting to know him in the community.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18th, from 12 to 2 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Services will begin at 2 pm at the funeral home. Former and current players of Anton are encouraged to wear red in his memory. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Fernsler family.
