Anthony Wayne Shimp

Anthony W. Shimp (Twak), 76, of Spring Township, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Country Meadows, Wyomissing. He was the widow of Shirley R. Shimp, who passed away on March 19, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Katherine Shimp.

Anthony graduated from Wilson High School, West Lawn, class of 1965. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1969 as a Vietnam combat engineer. He attained the rank of sergeant. He was employed as a construction superintendent for EJ Breneman Inc for 42 years, retiring in 2007.

Anthony enjoyed the outdoors especially while hunting and fishing.

Anthony was a life member of the Reinhold's VFW Lodge 6759, Cushion Peak Rod and Gun, Pennwyn Motor Association, and the West Wyomissing Fire Company.

Left to treasure Anthony's memory are his son, Todd A. Shimp (Tami) of Reinholds; a loving network of step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many close friends.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10 AM at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

Memorial donations can be made on Anthony's behalf to the Reinhold's VFW Lodge 6759, 250 Brunners Grove Rd, Reinholds, PA 17569.
