Anthony Joseph Peskosky, 90, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away August 29, 2012 in York Hospital, York, ME.

He was married June 28, 1947 to Victoria Mary (Barelski) Peskosky, who passed away September 2, 2009.

Born April 17, 1922, the fifth of ten children, in Conshohocken, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Bertha (Brzezinska) Peskosky.

Anthony attended Fell Township High School, Simpson, Lackawanna County.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, serving in the North Africa, and Burma (CBI) campaigns; and was discharged as a Sergeant in the 2nd Air Cargo Re-Supply Squadron, having earned a Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Victory Medal, and an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars.

He was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company (aka Occidental Chemical Corp.), Pottstown, for 38 years, holding various positions in the production, shipping, and maintenance departments, before retiring in 1984.

Anthony was a long time member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

He loved to travel and was a sports enthusiast, but most importantly, he loved his family.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara A. (Peskosky) wife of James M. Pizzo of Muhlenberg Township and Theresa A. (Peskosky), wife of David Herbein of York, ME and two sons, Michael A., husband of Karyn K. (Kunkel) Peskosky of Charlotte, NC and Stephen Peskosky of Temple, fiance of Tammy J. Koch.

Other surviving family members include fourteen grandchildren: Michael J. Pizzo; Melissa J. (Pizzo), wife of Todd Fuoco; Matthew J. Pizzo; Mark J. Pizzo; Cynthia (Herbein), wife of Bryan Schaeffer; Christina Herbein; Patricia Herbein; Daniel Herbein; Joshua Herbein; Stefanie L. Peskosky; Nicholas J. Peskosky, Veronica M. Peskosky, Alexis T. Koperna and Brett J. Koperna.

There are also seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605. Viewings will be held Friday evening from 7-9 P.M. and Saturday morning from 9:00-9:30 A.M. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum adjacent to H.G.A.
