Anthony "Shoey" Lattanzio, 94, passed away February 19, 2013 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.

Born May 12, 1918 in Reading, he was a son of the late Frank and Carmella (Malici) Lattanzio.

Shoey served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in Italy and Japan.

He was employed by Reading Clothing and Reading School District as a grounds keeper at the Reading Museum and by Wells Fargo Alarms.

Shoey held the office of President for the Oriole's Nest #2 in Reading and was also the National Supreme President of the Orioles. He was an avid Ted Williams and Boston Red Sox fan.

He played a great game of pool and loved to cut a rug with the Jitterbug.

Surviving are his two sons: Ronald, husband of Christine (Spanier) Lattanzio of Maidencreek Township and Larry, husband of Dorothy (Long) Lattanzio of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include Amelia (Foscone) Lattanzio of Muhlenberg Township; five grandchildren: Ronald Lattanzio, Jr., Lisa Lattanzio, Angela Lattanzio, Marissa Lattanzio and Anthony Lattanzio; three great grandchildren: D'Amore Stephens, Karysa Lattanzio and Kevin Lattanzio and four great-great grandchildren: Damian, Antonio, Serenity and Jade.

Shoey was predeceased by his son, Michael Lattanzio and siblings, Mary Callasacco, Frank Lattanzio, Jr., Rose Harvan, Samuel Lattanzio and a set of twins who passed away at birth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Hyde Park. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
