Anthony John Pugliese

Anthony John Pugliese, 83, of Exeter Township, died March 14, 2014 in St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was the husband of Helen Mae (Stumhofer) Pugliese, whom he married June 14, 1975.

Born in Reading, PA, he was a son of the late Mark William Pugliese and E. Mildred (Ford) Pugliese.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception, Birdsboro.

Anthony was an aircraft mechanic for 22 years with the United States Air Force and was honorable discharged as a master sergeant September 1, 1972.

He served in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.

Anthony was later employed as a mechanic with BF Goodrich, Oaks and in the same capicity with Johnson-Mathey, Wayne, PA until his retirement in 1995.

Other survivors include seven children: Kathy A. (Koch) Pugliese of Reading; Lucille A. (Koch), wife of Jeffrey Kramlich of Douglassville; Jeffrey J., husband of Lesley (Bleiseth) Koch of Exeter Township; Jacqueline V. (Pugliese), wife of Juan A. Perez of Lawrenceville, GA; Laura M. (Pugliese), wife of Dennis Greenfield of Oak Orchard, DE; Antoinette M. (Pugliese) Swan of Athens, GA and Anthony J. Pugliese Jr., husband of Bonnie (Antonio) Pugliese of Douglassville.

There are also three siblings surviving: Dr. Peter T., widower of Joanne (Rhoads) Pugliese of North Heidelberg Township; Mark W., husband of Gayle Pugliese of Fleetwood and Dolores M. (Pugliese), widow of James Lapham of Lancaster.

Twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive him.

He was predeceased by two siblings: Harry C. Pugliese and Joseph M. Pugliese.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
