Anthony Joffred

Anthony Joffred, 86, of Whitfield, died March 3, 2010 in St. Joseph's Hospital.

His wife, Mary W. (Szczepanski) Joffred died March 5, 2004.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Louis and Anna (Mazzia) Joffred.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during World War II.

Anthony was a career project manager in mechanical contracting. His career highlight was working as project superintendent for an Iron Ore Pellitizing Plant in Tazmania, Australia.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield; and was a union member of the Steamfitters Local Union 420, Philadelphia.

Anthony was a wonderful father and grandfather; and he was avid fisherman.

He is survived by two sons, Michael A., husband of Kathryn Joffred, Wyomissing and Thomas W. Joffred, fiancé of Margaret Delellis, West Lawn. There are three siblings, Rose Marino, Bernville, Antoinette Okonski, Reading and Louis Joffred in Arizona. Four grandchildren, Anne, Ellen, Robert and Rachael also survive him.

He was predeceased by four siblings, Michael, John and Joseph Joffred; and Grace Orlando.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 1 p.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Edward J.
