Anthony S. Calabria

Anthony S. Calabria, 89, formerly of Wyomissing, died March 14, 2009 in Meadow Lakes, East Windsor, NJ.

His wife, Frances M. (Musco) Calabria, died February 9, 2008.

Born in Clearfield, PA, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Nancy (Butto) Calabria.

He was a graduate of St. Peter's High School, Reading. Later, he served in the US Navy during both WW II and Korea.

Tony was an insurance agent for John Hancock, Reading for many years, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield and was a former longtime member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Mr. Calabria is survived by two sons, John A., husband of Eileen Calabria, Mt. Holly, NJ; and Robert J., husband of Lucy N. Calabria, Clayton, NC. There are three brothers, Frank, Wyomissing, Philip and William, both of Reading; and two sisters, Carmella Bibbo, Reading and Rose Calabria, Brooksville, FL. Five grandchildren, Jeffrey Calabria, Steven Calabria, Tony Calabria, Stephanie Johnson and Brian Calabria; and eight great-grandchildren also survive him.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Russell, Charles, Joseph and Sam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
