Anthony J. Bermudez

Anthony John "Tony" Bermudez, 55, died after a four year battle with brain cancer February 22, 2010 at 10:15 pm in his Reading residence.

He was married September 26, 1981 to Barbara (Jaroszenski) Bermudez.

Born in Bronx, New York on October 7, 1954, he was a son of the late Antonio J. and Socorro (Suarez) Bermudez.

He was a 1972 graduate of James Monroe High School, Bronx, New York.

Anthony was employed as a steel inspector for 20 years with Carpenter Technology, Reading, retiring September 2006.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Anthony was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

He also loved playing golf and spending time with his family.

Anthony is also survived by two sons: Michael A. Bermudez, fiancé of Megan K. McGrath and Jordan A. Bermudez.

Other survivors include three siblings: Frances A. (Bermudez) Martinez, of Wilmington, Delaware, fiancée of David A. Braun; Katherine (Bermudez)Clay, widow of James M. Clay of Iselin, NJ and Steven L. Bermudez, husband of Patricia L. (Smith)Bermudez of Fort Worth, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 3rd & Franklin Streets, Reading, with Msgr. Felix A. Losito celebrating. A viewing will be held Sunday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. No public viewing on Monday. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
