Anthony B. Benz

Anthony B. Benz, 91, of Temple, passed away on July 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He celebrated 48 years of marriage with his wife, Rosemary (Steck) Benz.

Born in Philadelphia to the late William and Isabel (Toner) Benz, Tony honorably served in the United States Navy for two years before enlisting in the Marines, retiring as a Captain after 30 years. In addition to his proud military career, Tony also worked for SEPTA for many years, until his retirement with them.

Beyond his long and respected career, Tony was best known by those closest to him for his clever jokes and stories. Always seeking to make others laugh or smile, Tony simply exuded warmth (even when trying to act gruff). He made a friend of every stranger he encountered, and his constant thoughts were of love and protection for his family.

His memory will be treasured by his wife, Rosemary; his children: Michelle Clemmons (Eiford) of Supply, NC; Kevin Benz (Belinda) of Ash, NC; Danielle Tate (Dick) of Chalfont; Susan Buck (Kevin) of Reading; and Nicholas Benz of Tacony. Tony is also survived by his many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as his nieces, nephews, and their families. Tony was predeceased by his son, Anthony "Rusty" Benz Jr.
