Anne M. Murphy (Pugarelli), age 79 died in the ICU Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital at 5:20 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, The Rev. Mr. John W. Murphy, Jr., a daughter Deborah A. Fisher of Hollsopple, PA; a daughter Susan A. McGuane of Whippany, NJ; and a son John W. Murphy, III of Royersford, PA; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Kathryn in 1993.
Additional survivors include two sisters: Janet Pertusi of NYC, NY; and Mary Lanning of Venice, Fl; and several nieces and nephews.
A native of Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Manganello) Pugarelli. She attended Scranton Central High School, the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing and Mansfield State University.
Following her school years she worked for Dr. Mario Valverde and Dr. William J. Donovan in Scranton. She moved to Reading in 1964. Prior to retiring, she worked for Dr. David Pearah and Dr. Moiz Carim.
A founding member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in Sinking Spring, she was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club of the parish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Dr., Sinking Spring. A viewing will will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. A committal service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, 906 Penn Ave., Wyomissing, PA 19610 or Host for Hospitals, 300 N. Highland Ave., Merion, PA 19066. Edward J.
