Anne M. Kubinak Ludwig

Anne M. Kubinak Ludwig, 72 of Spring Township, died on April 23, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she was a patient since April 2. Known affectionately as Annie and "Maugie," she was the daughter of the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Catherine (Ennis) Rauen, born in West Reading, Pa., on May 28, 1939.

She was a charter member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, where she organized many CYO Sports Banquets.

Anne was a member of the Wyomissing Hills Women's Club, serving as President for two terms, Chairwoman of erecting the War Memorial in Wyomissing Hills Park, organized the Memorial Day Parades and Spaghetti Dinners, and served as Second Vice President of the Berks County Federation of Women's Clubs and a charter member of the Wyomissing Hills Swim Association.

She served as a volunteer for Berks Visiting Nurses Association, working in the office and at flu shot clinics.

She was employed as a pre-school teacher's aide and nurse's aide, last working as a psychiatric aide at Wernersville State Hospital, where she retired in 1999.

Anne was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School where she was a member of the Bell-Tones and attended Immaculata College studying Home Economics.

She was pre-deceased by her first husband Louis Kubinak in 1985 and second husband Herbert Ludwig in 2010.

Anne is survived by three children Lois A. Kubinak of Spring Township; Douglas A., husband of Terri L. (Fisher) Kubinak of Lower Heidelberg Township and Robin (Kubinak), wife of Mike Driskill of Raleigh North Carolina and two grandchildren: Ian and Haley Kubinak.

She was predeceased by two sisters: Teresa (Rauen) Banks and Rosemary Drexler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. A viewing will be held Friday 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. No public viewing on Saturday. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
