Anna Ruhnke

Anna Ruhnke, 78, Wyomissing, died May 8 at 3:40 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient one day.

Her husband, Erwin W. Ruhnke, died May 14, 1989.

Born in Leobschutz, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Paulina (Schoerner) Purschke.

Ruhmle was employed for 26 years as a polisher by the Baldwin Hardware Co., Reading, retiring n 1989.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary A. (Ruhnke) Miller, West Lawn, and Betty A. (Ruhnke) Snider, Reading; and four sons: Hans E., Temple; Benno A., and John R., both of Mohnton; and Tony J., Wyomissing.

Other survivors include a brother, Benno A. Purschke, in Germany.

There are also 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
