Anna M. Riegel

Anna M. (O'Neill) Riegel, 95, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in her Reading residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the Lloyd H. Riegel, who died April 22, 2006, and with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harry Joseph Sr., and Anna Catherine (Clauss) O'Neill.

Anna was a graduate of St. Peter's High School, Reading.

She was a member of St. Margaret's R. C. Church, Reading for over 83 years serving as church secretary to Rev. Andrew J. Lenahan during the building of the new church.

Anna was last employed by the Windsor Card Shop in the Berkshire Mall. She was also co-owner and operator of the Sho Boat Bar and Restaurant for 35 years and worked for the Credit Control Board.

She served as Den Mother to Cub Scout Troop #238 and leader for the Camp Fire Girls.

Anna is survived by her three children; Patricia A., wife of Terry L. Bush, Lederach; Jean L. Riegel, Reading; Lloyd F. Riegel, Virginia Beach, VA. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Mildred O'Neill, Grace Staub, and Mary O'Neill; five grandchildren, Bonnie, Andrew, Sara, Leslie, and Betsy; four great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Kyler, Alyssa, and Ivy; three step-grandchildren, Catherine, Hilary, and Jackie; three step-great- grandchildren, William, Alex and Emily.

She was predeceased by her nine siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 21, 2017, at 11 a.m., in St. Margaret's R. C. Church, 925 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
