Anna V. J. (Lojec) Pichini, 87, of Wyomissing, passed away January 10, 2012 peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of Quido Pichini who passed away October 21, 1985.
Anna was born in Reading on July 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Peter G. Lojec, Sr. and Catherine (Dysput) Lojec.
Anna was a committed mother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. During World War II she worked at Reading Clothing, sewing navy pea coats for the war effort. An accomplished cook, she spent many hours cooking food not only for the family but for the entire neighborhood. She loved to sew, knit and crochet and was an avid craft show attendee. She enjoyed her garden, flowers, her Koi fish pond, and her fountain in her back yard. Nothing meant more to her than the holidays, and keeping the holiday traditions alive. Anna had the unique ability to make people laugh. Even during the most adverse conditions she was able to come up with a quip that would bring down the house in laughter.
During her early years, Anna was actively involved in community organizations, holding leadership positions in the March of Dimes and the Community Chest fund drives. She was a lifetime member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Reading.
Anna was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
She is survived by three children: Michaeleen A. Eves, wife of G. Christopher Eves of North Heidelberg Township, Peter Q. Pichini, husband of Cecelia (Desjardins) Pichini of Austin, TX and Guido M. Pichini, husband of Susan B. (Nunemacher) Pichini of Wyomissing.
