Anna M. O'Pake, 88, Reading, mother of state Sen. Michael A. O'Pake of Reading, died Jan. 28 in Phoebe Berks Nursing Center, Wernersville, where she had been a resident since Jan. 21, 2005.
Her husband, Michael E. O'Pake, died Feb. 3, 1953.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Matizscak) Maslar.
O'Pake was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
She will be featured in "Women in History, Volume One," a book to be published in February by the Berks County Commission for Women.
O'Pake was named to the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame in 2000 for her 50 consecutive years of voting.
Other survivors include a brother, John Maslar, Wyomissing, and a sister, Pauline (Maslar) Peltier, Laureldale.
There are also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Patrick D., on Feb. 14, 1996.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in St. Margaret's RC Church. Private entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
