Anna M. Bitzer

Anna M. Bitzer, 85, of Reading, died August 11 in ManorCare, Laureldale.

Her husband Charles W. Bitzer died April 20, 1970.

Born in Pittston, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Trisa (Cosentino) Cassaro.

Anna was a cashier for 37 years for Pomeroy's Department Store, Reading, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church.

Anna was a graduate of Jenkinstown High School in 1939.

Survivors include one daughter Wilma L. (Bitzer) Parenti, Mohrsville. There are also two brothers, Angelo Cassaro, Laureldale and Albert Cassaro, Las Vegas, NV and three sisters, Mildred R. (Cassaro) Motacki, Spring Twp., Phyllis (Cassaro) DeGeorge, Wernersville and Grace (Cassaro) Schlarb, Spring Twp. Other survivors include one grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. in St. Margaret's R.C. Church. Burial will be Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the church.
