Anna Grace Lorah

Anna Grace Lorah, 87, of Mohnton, passed away May 24, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Her husband, Webster G. Lorah, died in 1996.

Anna Grace was the daughter of the late Harvey J. and Edna (Lausch) Redcay. She was born on her parents' farm in Brecknock Township and was fortunate enough to live there her entire life.

She retired from Governor Mifflin School District having worked as the head cook for Brecknock Elementary School and Governor Mifflin Senior High School.

Anna Grace was an outstanding cook. She was known for her delicious pot pies and served them at many church and Grange dinners; often drawing crowds from all over Berks County. She also loved catching and cooking seafood dinners and clam chowder at her home away from home in Rehoboth Beach, DE.

She was an avid card player and belonged to the Bowmansville Card Club.

Anna Grace was a lifelong member of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church, Knauers. She was very active in the church and was a member of the Young at Heart Club. She was also a member of Alleghenyville Grange.

She was a genuine loving and giving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy A. Maier, Mohnton and her grandson, Eric D. Maier, Mohnton.

Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church 1327 Allegheny Rd., Mohnton, PA 19540. A viewing will be from 2 to 3 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Allegheny Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in honor of Anna Grace Lorah to Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address. Edward J.
