Anna K. Krupa, 89, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away October 15, 2013 in Rittenhouse Senior Living of Reading.
Born November 25, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophia (Kabala) Krupa. She was also predeceased by her brothers: Joseph Krupa and Michael Krupa; and her nephew, Lawrence Krupa.
She is survived by her nieces: Mary Jo Brown, Santa Monica, CA; Joan Janis, East Norriton; and her nephews: Gene Krupa, Eddystone; Gerald Krupa, Temple; and David Krupa, Burbank, CA. Seven grand nieces and nephews and sixteen great-grand nieces and nephews also survive her.
Anna worked for Wilson Products, Division of ESB, Inc., as their telephone PBX operator and receptionist.
She was a member of Reading Civic Theater for over 55 years. As a character actress she played many comic roles including Mrs. O'Dare in "Irene" and her favorite, Pauline in "No No Nanette". Other credits include Frau Schmidt in "The Sound Of Music" and participation in the ensembles of other productions too numerous to mention. When not acting, she worked behind the scenes on make-up for the cast and in later years for the musical productions at Muhlenberg and Governor Mifflin High Schools. Anna also served on the board of directors of the Reading Civic Theater.
Anna had wonderful friends that she always "had a blast with" and loved all the holidays and special occasions that she spent with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Hyde Park. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cemetery.
