Anna May R. Hendricks

Anna May R. Hendricks, 80, of Laureldale, passed away April 22, 2009, in Reading Hospital, where she was a patient since April 16.

She was the wife of Albert F. "Spike" Hendricks.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Anna May (Smith) Schultz.

She was a 1947 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School.

Anna May was employed for 33 years by Western Electric, AT&T and retired from Lucent Technologies, Muhlenberg Twp. in 1986. She was lifetime member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Anna May was a member of the Pagoda City Beamers, where she served as Treasurer for a number of years, and was the District Treasurer of the Jim Beam International Division. She was also an avid collector of bird houses.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Debra L. Yoder, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dale Ann H. Farina, wife of Ernest J. Farina, Muhlenberg Twp. She enjoyed spending time with her three grandsons, Christopher M. Clay, husband of Adele Clay, Connecticut; Kyle A. Farina and Tyler J. Farina; and great-granddaughter, Linnea Elizabeth Clay.

She is also survived by one brother, Francis M. Schultz, husband of Mary Schultz, Delaware. She was predeceased by four siblings: Lillian M. Ash, George Schultz, James Schultz and Virginia Roessler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 25, at 10:30am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd, Hyde Park, Reading, PA 19605. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30am in the church.
