Anna P. Harkness

Anna P. Harkness, 102, passed away peacefully from the late effects of dementia on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Berks Heim where she had resided for the past two and a half years. She previously resided at Country Meadows of Wyomissing. She was the widow of Thomas Harkness, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2020.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Silvino and Irena (Cianci) Piluso. She was predeceased by her sister Mollie (Peluso) Pinti, wife of Angelo Pinti; sister Mary (Peluso) Brubaker, wife of Raymond R. Brubaker; brother Herman Peluso; along with a niece and nephew.

She is survived by a son, Thomas M., husband of Vickie L. Harkness of Reading; granddaughters, Courtney Downes, wife of Scott Downes, and Lauren Harkness, both of Reading; and two great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff and physicians of Essex Commons at Berks Heim for their kind and compassionate care during her stay.

Services will be private. Entombment will be at Gethsemane Mausoleum in Laureldale.
