Anna M. Casey

Anna M Casey, 91, of Wyomissing passed peacefully at the Highlands on December 1, 2012. She was the wife of the late John D Casey, M.D. Born in York, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frantz and Anna Werner. She was a graduate of Temple University Nursing School, and was employed at Temple as a Labor and Delivery R.N.; she later served in the Unitied States Navy Nursing Corps during WW II.

Anna is survived by her seven children, Susan ( Casey) Lubbers, Emmaus, PA; Judith ( Casey) Stephenson, Hillsborough, CA; Elizabeth (Casey) Wonder, Vienna, VA. ; Anne M. Casey, M.D., White Plains, NY ; Lauren ( Casey) McTear, R.N., Erdenheim, PA; John D. Jr., M.D., Wyomissing, PA and Steven E. Casey, M.D., Hatfield, PA.

She was blessed with 25 beautiful grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Anna was a kind, loving mother and devoted wife. She enjoyed family more than anything. Anna was devout in her Catholic faith and a parishioner at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in her later years.

A private Mass of Christian Burial with interment in Gethsemane Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Carmelite Monastery, Old York Road at 66th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
