Anna Bernardo

Anna (Medaglia) Bernardo 93, of Temple, died Dec 3, 2012 in the Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

She was the widow of Anthony J. Bernardo who died in August of 1994.

Anna was born in Reading Pa and was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Virgilia (Damato) Medaglia.

She was a graduate of Reading High School.

In her younger years, Anna was a professional dancer with Bonnie Borelli's dance troupe. The troupe travelled the country and worked on many of the biggest stages including the Steel Pier in it's heyday and the Riveredge club locally and she worked with most of the great Big-Bands of the day ... Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman etc.

Anna was also a professional and highly skilled seamstress who was well known for making custom draperies. Many of the great homes of the Reading area still have her wonderful Victorian styled draperies as their window treatments.

She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels church.

Anna is survived by a son, Fred A., daughter-in-law Dee, grand daughter Corinne A Bernardo of Shillington, Pa.,grandson Justin A, , his wife, Heidi and great grandson Benjamin Thomas Bernardo, of Wyomissing, Pa.

She is also survived by two sisters: Mary Agatone of West Lawn, and Angelina Endy of Muhlenberg Township, and two brothers Leroy and Joseph Medaglia of Muhlenberg Township, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by three brothers: Michael, Daniel, and John Medaglia and four sisters: Antionette Valeriano, Millie Pandolfi, Rose Santarelli and Katherine Orlando.

Memorial contributions may be made to "Lilly's friends" at the Berks County Humane Society, 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.

Funeral services were held privately. Entombment was in Gethsemane Cemetery & Mausoleum.
