Ann Marie "Nancy" Scherer, 50, was pronounced dead at 6:26pm on June 28th in her residence at 2246 Woodvale Avenue, Mount Penn by members of the Berks County Coroners Office.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of John F. Scherer of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and the late Lorraine R. (Purcell) Scherer.
She is also survived by a step-mother, Joy Scherer of New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Scherer was a 1972 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
She worked for 6 years as a custodian by the Berks County Housing Authority, last working Friday.
Scherer is also survived by a son, John Michael "Mikey" Yerger II at home.
Other survivors include two brothers, Peter J. Scherer of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Robert D. Scherer of Hamburg.
She is also survived by seven sisters, Patricia (Scherer) DeJoseph of Reading, Alicia (Scherer) Bradley of Mount Penn, Tina Scherer of Shillington, Deborah (Scherer) Heberling of Temple, Jennifer (Scherer) Gerhart of Muhlenberg Township, Lori (Scherer) Barringer of New Smyrna, Florida and Jacqueline Scherer of Huntington, West Virginia.
There are also several nieces, nephews, one great niece and one great nephew.
She was predeceased by a brother, John F. Jr., who died in 1952.
Services will be Thursday 9:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewings Wednesday evening, 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Thursday morning 8:30 - 9:00 am, both in the funeral home. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to John Michael Yerger II Education Trust Fund, c/o Millennium Bank, 1200 Broadcasting Road, Wyomissing, Pa 19610.
