Angela Gigliotti

Angela Gigliotti, 91, of Kenhorst, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in the care of Mifflin Center, Shillington, where she had been a guest for three days. She was the loving widow of Joseph N. Gigliotti, who passed away in 1999.

Born in Sersale, Italy, to the late Serafino and Domenica (Capellupo) Gigliotti, Angela immigrated to the United States in 1954 as a young woman. Her husband, Joseph, and young son, Alex, joined her shortly after in 1956. She and Joseph settled in Kenhorst, founding Gigliotti Iron Works and the home she lived in the rest of her life.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

Angela was a devoted wife and mother known for her compassion, kindness, and love of cooking. Everything was made from scratch. Every Sunday her family looked forward to the traditional spaghetti dinner she prepared with her homemade sauce, hand-rolled meatballs, and homemade sausage. Known also for her rice potatoes, Angela's legacy of love will be long celebrated through her recipes, which have been passed on through her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Angela will be dearly missed by her children: Alexander Gigliotti (Sherri) of Kenhorst; Serafino "Sam" Gigliotti of Kenhorst; and Carmela Borelli (Giovanni) of Sinking Spring; grandchildren: Angela Nicole Houck (Ian) of Wyomissing; Joseph James Gigliotti of Wyomissing; Giuseppe Borelli (Mallory) of Nevada; and Gabriella Borelli of Lower Pottsgrove; and a great grandson, Caden Houck of Wyomissing. Angela is also survived by her brothers, Giuseppe Gigliotti (Maria) of Laureldale and Vincent Gigliotti (Caterina) of Wyomissing.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Antonio.
