Angel Gabriel Cintron, 61, passed away on March 5, 2011 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Ruth Abdellah-Cintron, with whom he resided in Wyomissing.
Born in Juan Diaz, Puerto Rico, U.S.A., he was a son of Maria L. (Torres) Cintron, of Puerto Rico and the late Victor Cintron.
He worked for The Kutztown Foundry for 20 years, where he was actively employed at the time of his death.
He attended high school in Puerto Rico and also played baseball for many years, as pitcher. He pitched for The Padres while in Boston and for the Puerto Rican Club (The Boriquen) while in PA.
Angel's favorite professional baseball team was the Phillies.
In addition to his mother, Angel is survived by one daughter, Veronica Cintron of Wyomissing; one stepson, Nasser Abdellah, of Bronx, NY and one stepdaughter, Rosemary Abdellah, of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by nine brothers, five sisters, and two granddaughters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's R.C. Church, 322 S. 5th Street, Reading. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
