Andrew J. Woodward

Our Beloved Andrew James Woodward passed away on February 3, 2010, peacefully in his sleep, at the tender age of 24.

Andy was a 2003 graduate from Warwick High School. He then went on to Virginia Tech where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 in Philosophy with minors in Math and Music. His next adventure took him to Kutztown University where he graduated with a Master's Degree in December 2009 in English Education as Summa Cum Laude. At the time of his passing, he was student teaching at Wyomissing High School.

Andy was a loving, gentle soul who had a heart that reached out to everyone. He was a musician of note, having composed and played with various jazz ensembles in Lancaster County while in High School, and in Blacksburg, VA while a student at VA Tech. He was also a gifted illustrator and cartoonist. Andy has written and published a book of his poetry and a composition book containing all of his essays. Our Andy always loved to travel, which took him to Japan. He also loved playing practical jokes and he was always open to a new adventure. Although he was taken from us prematurely, we know he is still playing his music and will always stay in our hearts and souls. We love you, Andy.

Andy is survived by his mother, Patricia A. (Simon) Woodward, his father, Mark R. Woodward; his brother, Christopher S. Woodward, and his grandmother, Sybil Woodward.

He is also survived by his Aunts: Judy Simon, Bernville, Laura Jean, wife of Gary Ley, RI, Terri Woodward, VA Beach; his uncle, Robert J. Simon, Gulfport, FL; his cousins, Jeffrey Ley and Kerri Houser, both of RI; and his beloved dog, Luna.

A Memorial Service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd., Wyomissing. A visitation will be Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the church. Edward J.
