Andrew S. Moore

Andrew S. Moore, 81, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his home in Reading. He was the loving husband of Diane (Summers) Moore, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born in Margaret, Alabama, and raised in Reading, he was the only son of the late Sherman and Bernice Moore. He was a steel worker for Dana Corp for many years, retiring in 2001 as the plant closed.

Andrew was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he served for a time as a trustee and was a member of the Lay Organization.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Anthony Lawrence Moore and daughter-in-law, Shawn Moore of Myrtle Beach, SC; loving aunt, Claudine Jenkins; grandchildren: Marcel Moore, Tristan Moore, Alexander Moore, Danika Moore, Cameron Moore and Kendall Oglesby; great grandchildren: Marcel, Jr., Amir, Roma, and Azari; sister-in-law Myrtle J. Dokes; a large extended family; and close family friends: Helen Jenkins, Jane Cook and Woody Bates, cousin.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11:00 am in Bethel A.M.E Church, 330 W Windsor St, Reading, Pennsylvania 19601. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading.
