Andrew Horner, 82, of West Wyomissing passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 in Reading Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Magdalena (Werner) Horner.
He was a son of the late Michael and Rosina (Stutz) Horner.
Born in Futok, Yugoslavia, he moved to this country in 1949.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Andrew was employed as a baker with Katz Bakery, Reading and Haney's Bakery, Mt. Penn for 20 years. Until his retirement in 1990, he worked at Schubert's Custom Cabinetry Shop, Reading for 18 years.
He enjoyed baking, gardening, making homemade wine, playing the keyboard and accordion and playing with his two great grandsons. He was also known for the sausage he made.
Also surviving is his son, Andrew Horner, Jr. and his fiancé, Doreen Daniels of Muhlenberg Township; his brother, Michael, husband of Beverly Horner of Shoemakersville; his sister, Eva, wife of Herbert Schubert of Wyomissing; granddaughter, Erika, wife of Andrew Peters of Northampton and two great grandsons, Bailey Brossman and Dylan Peters.
He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
