Amy A. Jurasinski, 89, Wyomissing, passed away August 22, 2014.
She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Jurasinski. She was predeceased by her first husband, Mark "Bud" Shuman, in 1951.
Born in West Leesport, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Pearl (Gerber) Dunkelberger.
Amy graduated from Ontelaunee High School in 1942.
She played on several softball teams in Berks County and professionally in 1946 for the Grand Rapid Chicks/South Bend Blue Sox AAGPBLand is in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. She was also an avid bowler and golfer. She was a lifetime member of the Gouglersville Fire Company.
She was a seamstress for Berkshire Knitting Mills for 11 years. She also was an Inspector for AT&T for 23 years before retiring in 1987.
Amy was a parishioner at Trinity United Church of Christ, Leesport.
She is survived by her children: Michele L. wife of Joseph Stoppi, South Heidelberg and Cheryl A. wife of Kerry Griffith of Spring Township. Also surviving are siblings Dorothy B. Griesemer of Newark, DE, andGladys M. Levan of Leesport, PA; and her 4 grandsons, Phillip and James Griffith and Samuel and Nicholas Stoppi.
Amy was predeceased by her sisters Doris Shappell and Elaine Crook, and her brother, Charles A. Dunkelberger.
Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, August 26, at Gethsemane Cemetery at 11am.Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc. West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.Kuhnfuneralhome.com.
