Amelia G. "Millie" Davies, 95, of Wernersville, passed away August 16, 2015 in the Health Care Center of the Phoebe Berks Village where she resided since 2007.
The wife of the late William T. Davies, who passed away in August 1996, and the daughter of the late Edna M. and George P. Kleitz, she was born in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County in 1920. She was also pre-deceased by an infant son and her four sisters, Dorothy, Daisy, Jackie and Erma Jean.
She is survived by two sons, William J. (Jacqueline A.), Wyomissing, PA and Eugene R. (Kristina D.), Grand Prairie, TX; three grandchildren: Joel C. (Laurie A.) Salisbury, MD, Aimee D. (Michael) Platt, Chicago, IL, and Marc W. (Heather), Highland Village, TX; and six great-grandchildren: Jordan, McKenna, Luke, Dylan, Maya, and Blayke.
Before retiring and moving to Wyomissing, Millie worked as the Sportswear Buyer for Haak Brothers Department Store in Lebanon, PA over 12 years. A longtime member of the Wyomissing Area Garden Club, Millie conducted craft workshops and shared her ideas and artistic talents with fellow members and at Senior Centers throughout the community. She enjoyed traveling, spending summers at the seashore, shopping, eating at fine restaurants, and being with her family.
Services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Phoebe Berks Chapel, with burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, PA. A viewing will held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, 1 Heidelberg Drive., Wernersville, PA 19565. Edward J.
