Amanda Hassler

Amanda Hassler, 93, of Oley, PA, died July 24, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Arthur L. Hassler who died in June of 2003.

Born August 21, 1920 in Oley, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Sally B. (Moser) DeTurck.

She was a employed as a maintenance worker with Oley Valley Hotel for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Prior to that, she was employed with the former Shirt Factory in Fleetwood for 7 years.

Amanda was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ, Oley.

She enjoyed quilting and gardening and doing jigsaw puzzles and embroidery.

Surviving is her daughter, Julia L. Hassler of Oley and a brother, Henry DeTurck of Florence, MA.

She was predeceased by her two sisters, Helen Kehl and Susan DeTurck.

Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
