Alvin V.F. Strombosky, 84, West Reading, was dead on arrival Jan. 17 in Reading Hospital.
His wife, Catherine (Meloditz) Strombosky, died Sept. 10, 1994.
Born in Minersville, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Victor and Anna (Washcavage) Strombosky.
Strombosky was employed as a chef by the West Reading Hotel and Young Republican Club, Wyomissing, and was last employed for 10 years as a cook by Reading Hospital, retiring in 1984.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Strombosky was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Surviving are two sons, Allen J., Brooklyn, N.Y., and Jerome D., Westford, Mass.; and two daughters, Geralyn (Strombosky) Rafat, Morganville, N.J., and Jayne Strombosky, Red Bank, N.J.
Other survivors include three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Viewing will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery, Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
