Alvin M. Calpino, 90, of Muhlenberg Township, died September 24 at Manor Care, Laureldale.
He was the husband of Ollie L. (Jenkins) Calpino, whom he married July 26, 1945.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Dominic and Angeline(DeLillo) Calpino.
Alvin was the owner of Calco, Reading. He previously worked at Carpenter Technologies, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church.
Alvin was a U. S. Army veteran serving 310 Signal Operation Battalion during WWII.
Alvin was an avid dancer and danced at Northmont Beneficial every Sunday night for years. He loved trains and the railroad, PSU football, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: David M. Calpino, Hazelton, Steven T., husband of Terri Calpino, Doylestown and a daughter, Lisa A., wife of Robert Rineer, West Reading.
He is also survived by three grandchildren: Kathryn M. Calpino, Alvin R. Rineer and Gabe L. Rineer.
Alvin was predeceased by six siblings: Elizabeth Farina, Frank Calpino, William Calpino, Louis Calpino, Joseph Calpino, and Ambrose Calpino.
Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday from 8 to 9 a.m. in the funeral home.
