Alma Cornelius

Alma Cornelius, 91, of Shillington, passed away on June 12th at the Phoebe Berks Health Center, Wernersville.

Her first husband, Herbert Perry Hall, passed away in 1967. Her second husband, William Cornelius, passed away in 1975.

Born in Richmond Hill, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Abbey (Hendrickson) Eckhardt.

Alma was a graduate of Jamaica High School, Long Island, and a graduate of the Flushing Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a Registered Nurse for Valley Hospital, NJ, doing post- op critical care and at New York Public Library and Metropolitan Life doing industrial nursing.

Alma was a member of the Eastern Star, and very active in her church. Alma was a dedicated volunteer in many capacities throughout her life.

She is survived by one son, Herbert Perry Hall, Nuremberg, Germany, and two daughters, Barbara H. Binder, Sinking Spring and Janet H. Buzon, Oakdale, CT.

There are also seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four step- grandchildren, and three step- great grandchildren.

Alma is predeceased by one sister, Gladys Eckhardt.

There will be a Memorial Service on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. www.kuhnfuneralhome.com
