Alma A. Bagenstose

Alma A. Bagenstose, 98 formerly of Shoemakersville and Country Meadows of Wyomissing died July 27th in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the widow of Luther G. Bagenstose who died March 27, 1999. Alma was born in Centre Township and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Eva (Epting) Adams. She was the former owner and operator along with her late husband of the Western Auto Store in Pine Grove for 15 years. Alma was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Shoemakersville Fire Company and a former member of the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. Alma is survived by two daughters: Mary wife of Donald Waltman, State College, PA and Jean wife of Richard Rau, Newtown, CT., seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1st at 1:00PM from St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. A viewing will be held at the church from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Shoemakersville. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg, PA. is in charge of arrangements.
