Alma B. Adams

Alma B. "Dolly" "Becky"(Beck) Adams, 93, formerly of Mifflin Park, Reading, died March 24, 2017, in The Cornwall Manor Health Center.

She was the wife of Kenneth F. Adams. They were married 60 years.

Born in Reading, Alma was a daughter of the late David M. and Alma Beck.

Dolly was a 1941 graduate of Reading High School.

Before marrying in 1956, Alma was employed by Textile Machine Works, Wyomissing.

Dolly will be remembered for many things: love for animals, especially her dogs and being a homemaker. A few of her favorite pastimes were cooking, baking, rearranging furniture, hanging pictures and curtains and decorating the house.

Dolly also enjoyed politics and having lively discussions about policies.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her nephew, David E., husband of Cynthia Shirey.

Alma was predeceased by her sister, Sylvia R. Shirey.

A sincere thank you is extended to all her caregivers at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon and Cornwall Manor Health Center, Cornwall. Their kindness and dedication is greatly appreciated by her family.

Services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508.
