Allen R. Schutt

Allen Ray Schutt, Jr., 86, of Shillington, died January 26, 2013 in Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

He was the husband of Antoinette Lillian (Bernardine) Schutt, who died December 12, 2008.

Born in Reading, PA on March 4, 1926, he was a son of the late Allen R. Schutt, Sr. and Margaret (Reidnauer) Schutt Sekulski.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Allen was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School and a 1950 graduate of West Chester University.

He was a teacher for 12 years with the former Mount Penn High School and was later employed 17 years with Kutztown University as a professor of geography from 1968 - 1983.

Allen was a past commandeer of the Reber-Moore American Legion Post #635.

He was also a past treasurer with the Pennsylvania Council for Geography Education.

Allen is survived by two sons: Eric S. Schutt of Shillington and Steven A., husband of Victoria A. (Gallen) Schutt of Spring Township.

Other survivors include three grandchildren: Taylor A. Schutt, S. Alexander Schutt and John D. Schutt.

He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Ann (Schutt) Stanavage and two granddaughters: Alexa Taylor Schutt and Morgan Grace Schutt.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
