Allen Lee Martin

Allen Lee Martin, 58, of 545 Prison Road, Bern Township, died April 20th in the Emergency Room at Reading Hospital.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Clarence L. and Ethel K. (Mull) Martin.

He was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School.

Martin was a member of Epler's Church, Bern Township.

He was employed for a number of years as a production worker for Continental Container, Reading and as a mechanic at Coca Cola, Tilden Township.

Martin later worked as a bus driver for Van Lear Transportation, Bern Township.

He last worked Wednesday as a bus driver for Eshelmans Transportation, Leesport.

Martin was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received the Bronze Star.

He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Fire Company, Bernville.

Martin was a member of Local Union Number 429, International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

He is survived by a daughter, Jessie T. Martin of Emmaus, Lehigh County and a son, Benjamin A. Martin at home.

Martin is also survived by a sister, Joyce A. (Martin) Joyce of Cumru Township.

He is predeceased by a son, Brian S. Martin, who died July 1991.

Services will be Monday at 10:00 am in Epler's United Church of Christ, Bern Township. Rev. Edward F. Barbezat officiating. Viewing Monday 8:30 am until time of service in the church. Burial will be in Epler's Church Cemetery, Bern Township. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
