Allen G. Herald

Allen G. Herald, 68, of Reading, passed away March 23, 2011 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Lynn Ann (Southworth) Herald.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Willard C. and Pearl N. (Lerch) Herald.

Allen was a 1960 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and attended the University of Toledo as a pharmacy major.

He worked for Kawecki Berylco, Laureldale, in quality control and research and development and retired from the PA Liquor Control Board.

Allen loved cars, 50's rock and roll and cowboy hats.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Reading.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children: Scott, husband of Christina Lillis, Exeter and Christopher Lillis. Also surviving are his step-grandchildren, Conner and Caroline.

Allen was predeceased by his son, Grant Allen Herald, December 1, 2006.

A Memorial Service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Reading. A visitation will be 12 to 1 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery.
