Alice J. O'Connell

Alice J. (Schuettler) Goodman O'Connell, 94, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, in the care of Berks Heim. She was the widow of Robert C. O'Connell, who passed away in 1981.

Born in Pottsville to the late Paul F. and Alice A. (Dimmerling) Schuettler, Alice graduated from Pottsville High School in 1950.

She retired in 1996 from Lucent as a cleaning room operator.

Alice was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed the simple joys of life. She loved to sing, liked to dance, and was nearly always humming. Her grandpuppies will miss her greatly.

Left to treasure her memory are her children, Kristine Goodman, wife of Carl R. Krott Jr., of Wyomissing, and Charles F. Goodman Jr., husband of Beth, of Fleetwood; grandchildren: Andrea Fatora, wife of Bill; Jena Damiani, wife of Dean; Hali Krott, wife of Chris; Bradley Wegelin; and Jeremiah Gainer; and great grandchildren: Ella, Livia, Dominick, Jessica, Melanie, Jamison, Natalee, Lily, William, Remi, Rae, Bo, Eleanor, and Sophia. Alice is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and their families.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Bud, Francis, and Frank Schuettler.
