Alice M. Swoyer, 86, died Oct. 23 in her West Lawn residence.
She was the wife of Edward J. Swoyer.
Born in Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Kennedy) Dalton.
Swoyer had been employed as a decorator by King Kup-Schoener Candies Inc., and later by Alice Schrafft Candy, both in West Reading, retiring in 1980.
She was a life member of the Bakery and Confectionery Workers International Union.
Swoyer was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
She is also survived by a son, Edward J. Jr., Cumru Township, and three daughters: Cathy Swoyer Burkart, Wilshire; Mary Ellen Swoyer, Wyomissing; and Alice Swoyer-Smolkowicz, Reading.
Other survivors include two brothers, Daniel Dalton, New Brunswick, N.J., and William Dalton, Roswell, Ga.
There are also four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
