Alfred W. "Al" Crump Sr., 99, formerly of Reading, passed away at The Highlands at Wyomissing, August 2, 2013.

Al was predeceased by his wife, Marie F. (Yudes) Crump, who died February 1, 1981 and his second wife, Anne Levin.

Born March 16, 1914 in New York City, he was a son of the late Arthur W. and Florence (Luerssen) Crump. He lived for 35 years in Reiffton and after retirement from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, he moved to Delray Beach, FL.

Al served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Al was an avid golfer and tennis player, playing daily until he was 90 years old and winning many super-senior tennis tournaments in Florida while playing at the Glen Eagles Tennis Club.

Surviving is his son, Attorney Alfred W. Jr., husband of Suzanne Crump of Wyomissing and his daughter, Carol M.(Crump), wife of John Dunmore of Harper's Ferry, WV and Montenegro.

Additional survivors include six grandchildren: Gage, husband of Jennifer; Derek, husband of Fumiyo; Travis; Celinda, wife of Jack Carr, Jr.; Cheri, wife of Ben Phyfer and Chris, husband of Holly and eight great grandchildren: Noah, Mia, Cameron, Allison, Danielle, Sitka, Ada and Anza.

Most recently Al was a resident at the Villa St. Elizabeth and The Highlands at Wyomissing, both of which the family would like to thank for the extraordinary care he received during his time there.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 21st at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township immediately following the service.
