Alfred I. Schwartz

Alfred I. Schwartz, 85, formerly of Monroe Avenue, West Wyomissing, died March 12 at 12:24 p.m. in Evans Retirement Home, Fleetwood, where he had resided since March 11, 2002.

His wife, Ardelle L. (Neider) Schwartz, died Oct. 31, 1987.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Clarence and Clara (Mitchell) Schwartz.

Schwartz was employed for 20 years as a screw-machine operator by Earle Hardware Co., Reading, last working in 1955. He was later employed for 20 years as a spray painter by Textile Machine Works, Wyomissing, retiring in 1980.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Reading.

Schwartz was an Army veteran.

Surviving are a a daughter, Winona A. Schwartz, Reading, and a son, Randall L., Kutztown.

Other survivors include four brothers: Harold, Pottstown; Walter, Danville, Va.; Elwood, Adamstown; and Clarence, Pennside.

There are also six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday a 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
